Page County's District 1 and District 3 supervisors' race is about to heat up with five candidates running for the Republican nomination.

With April 8 being the deadline for candidates to submit their nomination for the upcoming June 2 primary for the two contested supervisors races, one can only anticipate a close race.

According to KMA Land, the Page County's District 1 supervisors' seat will be contested by Darin Sunderman, Bethany Steeve, Mark S. Marriott, Jacob Holmes, and Jeff Brownfield. The current supervisor, Jon Herzberg, will not be seeking reelection.

However, the District 3 will have a race between Judith M. Kennedy and the incumbent Chuck Morris for the GOP nomination.

County Sheriff Lyle Palmer and County Auditor Melissa Wellhausen, both incumbent, will be running unopposed. The Democratic side doesn't have any candidates.

The Fremont County Board of Supervisors race will also be an interesting one with three candidates seeking the Republican ticket. The Democrats have one candidate.
