Montgomery County Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Apr. 1.
To protect our patients and staff during the coronavirus (COVID-19) event, Montgomery County Memorial Hospital is suspending routine visiting until further notice.
As of Wednesday, April 1, visitors will only be allowed in the facility based on the exceptions noted below:
-One support person, such as a spouse or partner, for labor and delivery patients
-One parent/legal guardian for pediatric patients
-End of life visits will be a case-by-case basis
For the Emergency Department, visitors are not allowed to remain in the waiting area. Visitors may return home and come back to pick up their family member or wait in their vehicle. Generally, visitors will be allowed in the Emergency Department based on the exceptions noted below:
-One parent/legal guardian will be allowed for pediatric patients
-Critically ill/injured or end of life patients will be allowed visitors
Visitors who meet exception criteria will be screened and escorted to the patient.
