SOUTHWEST IOWA HOME HEALTH: Governor Reynolds has recently announced the “Test Iowa” initiative

Southwest Iowa Home Health issued the following announcement on Apr. 24.

Governor Reynolds has recently announced the “Test Iowa” initiative. This initiative has been launched in hopes of increasing testing ability throughout the state. With more testing opportunities, tests can be done sooner and the results can be used to better track the spread of COVID-19. When there is better data about the degree of spread, we can better respond to it. This is designed to increase testing capability and provide an additional 3,000 tests per day in our state.

Therefore, all Iowan’s are encouraged to take this online assessment. (website is listed below)

What is TestIowa?

• TestIowa is a partnership with our state leaders and private corporations to increase the testing capability in the state of Iowa. With increased testing the state can better evaluate coronavirus spread and respond more swiftly to protect Iowans.

• All Iowans are urged to visit the TestIowa website and complete the online assessment which is used to assess your need for COVID-19 testing.

What happens after the assessment?

• The assessment evaluates your personal risk factors and will determine if you require COVID-19 testing.

• If testing is not recommended for you at the time of the assessment, the site will provide you with reminders about the steps you can take to protect yourself and your family.

• If a test is recommended, the site will walk you through the process of setting an appointment and at testing location.

Where are the testing locations?

• At this time there is only one testing location in the Des Moines area.

o Additional locations throughout the state are planned.

o At this time, locations will be determined by the results of the TestIowa assessment as it provides data to identify where testing is needed most.
