City of Council Bluffs issued the following announcement on July 1.
The hiring process for the positions of Firefighter and Firefighter/Paramedic positions was put on hold due to COVID-19. The new written exam date is August 8, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. at the Mid America Center.
Additionally, we have reopened the applications from July 3, 2020, until July 10, 2020. If we reach 250 applications before July 10th, we will close the applications at that time.
NOTE: Any applicant who successfully submitted their application for these positions during the initial application period of February 27th through March 23rd DOES NOT need to apply again.
If applicants qualify and wish to be considered for both Firefighter and Firefighter/Paramedic, they must fill out a separate application for each position.
The pay range for the position of Firefighter is $52,645.01 - $72,970.64.
The pay range for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic is $54,487.67 - $72,970.64.
Applicants who are included in the first 250 applications received, are invited to take the written exam. This will be held on August 8, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. at the Mid America Center. There is a passing score of 70%. If applicants wish to be considered for this position, they must be present for and complete this written exam.
