Montgomery County Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on June 25.
Thank you to the MCMH Auxiliary for their $20,000 donation for the purchase of a UV Portable Air and Surface Sanitizer to be used at the hospital!
The MCMH Auxiliary, founded in 1961, is a nonprofit organization that provides funding for special projects, as well as volunteer services for patients, staff and visitors of the hospital. They provide services such as a book cart for inpatients, operating the Lemon Tree gift shop, funding the Serenity Garden and much more!
The UV Portable Air and Surface Sanitizer will be used in unoccupied rooms to disinfect room air and exposed surfaces. The special lamps generate high levels of ultraviolet light that are able to kill microorganisms such as bacteria, mold and virus. Since the unit is lightweight, compact and portable, it can be used throughout the hospital. Montgomery County Memorial Hospital is especially grateful for the donation as it prepares for the possibility of a combined influenza/COVID season in fall 2020.
Looking to volunteer? The MCMH Auxiliary is always looking for new members. They offer a large variety of ways to become involved, with options to fit any schedule. For more information, please contact Kylie Bowen, MCMH Marketing Director, at 712-623-7185.
