Southwest Iowa makes an exception for the 4-H and FFA amid the Iowa State Fair and many county fairs dropping this year’s events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lexy Davies, Page County youth coordinator, said the decision was tough, but they are happy to make it.
“I’m really proud of the Page County Fair Board and Page County Extension council,” Davies told Radio Iowa. “Everybody has been able to work together and come up with a really good plan for our 4Hers and FFA exhibitors,”
Davies highlighted that the members of 4-H and FFA work hard to prepare for the Iowa State Fair.
“We know our 4-H and FFA members work really hard,” Davies told Radio Iowa. “They spend a lot of time working on projects and livestock. They deserve not only the chance to show off their talent and hard work but to be recognized for what they have done.”
