Visitors to the Page County Courthouse will now see eased procedures related to efforts to limit the transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19.
The Page County Board of Supervisors recently voted unanimously to do away with the door monitor and discontinue the mask requirement, according to coverage from KMA LAND. The end of the mask requirement was related to removing the door monitor, as the supervisors agreed it did not make sense to try to make masks mandatory if there is no one to enforce mask wearing.
However, masks will still be recommended, and individual departments are empowered to enforce a mask requirement to enter if they decide to do so, according to KMA LAND. Masks will also continue to be required in the Clerk of Courts Office and in the courtroom.
Additionally, without the need to monitor entry, the supervisors approved reopening all entrances to the courthouse, according to KMA LAND. Since the courthouse reopened in July, visitors have been required to enter by the south door and have their temperature checked by the door monitor.
