City of Council Bluffs issued the following announcement on Sept. 21.
We’re sad to report that the City of Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation Department had to cancel this year’s youth basketball leagues due to a lack of facility availability. Because the City does not have a recreation facility/ gym, our leagues use gym space at local schools and organizations. The City was unable to secure gym space for the winter leagues due to each organization’s COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
Typically the Parks and Recreation Department offers youth basketball leagues for kids kindergarten to third grade. We are hopeful to have leagues again next year. Thank you for understanding. Stay well.
