CITY OF COUNCIL BLUFFS: The Council Bluffs Recycling Center recently celebrated the 23rd year of operation!

Celebration

City of Council Bluffs issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.

The Council Bluffs Recycling Center recently celebrated the 23rd year of operation! Since opening, the Recycling Center has served over 817,000 customers. In 2019 alone, almost 51,000 people came through! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The Recycling Center receives most of its volume from the Council Bluffs residents on curbside recycling and from the recycling containers located throughout the community. These items are hand-sorted, baled and sold to brokers and mills by Solid Waste Management Division Staff. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The Recycling Center also accepts and recycles household hazardous materials, appliances, construction material, electronics, trees, tires. Curbside yard waste ends on November 30, but you can still bring yard waste and trees branches to the Recycle Center year round. Fees for these items are listed on the website at CBrecycles.com. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Items that are free to recycle include paper, magazines, books, plastic containers, corrugated brown boxes, pop cans, tin cans, and angle iron. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

REMEMBER: We're open until 6 p.m. on weekdays and 3 p.m. on Saturdays!
