Ben Kueter, a junior in Iowa City, has committed to the University of Iowa as both a football and wrestler, the university said.

The two-time state wrestling champion also had offers in football from Minnesota, Iowa State and Missouri, he said in an interview with Hawkeye Nation.

"It was a tough decision but I knew where I wanted to be," Kueter said.

He talked about how wrestling and football compliment each other.

"The first game of the year, I got a chance to sack the quarterback," he said. "I just got behind him in kind of like a suplex position. It was like I had done this a million times in wrestling. ... Little things like that, when you put your shoulder, you know how their body moves."

His goal at Iowa is to be a four-time national heavyweight champion in wrestling and also help the football team win titles.

He has played four sports in high school — including track and baseball. and still has almost two years left before graduation.

"My parents are pretty athletic," he said. "My mom ran track in high school and college, and my dad played basketball in college. ... It was a no brainer that I was going to play sports."

Kueter is ranked fourth best 220-pound high school wrestler in the nation, the website Flowrestling reported.

He will likely play linebacker on the football team, the story said.
