Iowa State’s women’s basketball lost their first game of the season to LSU. LSU scored the first 9 points of the game, and by half-time, LSU was maintaining a 6-point lead. The score at this point was 38-32. The final score of the game was 60-90.

Student athlete Ashley Joens finished the game with 24 points for her fourth 20-point performance of the season, according to an Iowa State University press release. Joens also connected on four of the Cyclones' nine triples, in a daunting test for LSU. Another Iowa State player of note is Lexi Donarski, who scored 10 points.

LSU Tigers Alexis Morris and Khalya Pointer were the all-star duo of the night, feeding multiple assists to each other. Another all-star, Ryann Payne, scored 9 points and three rebounds.

Experiencing the first game and first loss of the season in one night is an upset from Iowa State, one that they hopefully recover from sooner than later. The Cyclones' next game was Dec. 5, and LSU’s next game was Dec. 12.
