Iowa is closing out its class of 2022 with some big names that includes Brian Allen Jr.
"Officially an @HawkeyeFootball #Committed . @CoachK_Bell @CoachManson16 @RivalsFriedman," tweeted Brian Allen Jr.
Allen has a 4-star rating by Rivals, SB Nation reported. Three defensive linemen were announced in the class of Allen's announcement.
Allen missed most of the season in his senior year due to an injury, according to Fan Nation. He received high school honors as the team captain for the senior defensive end.
Allen has spent his junior and senior seasons in Connecticut at St. Thomas More, where he also had Jason Manson as his coach for a certain period.
"I'm going to the University of Iowa," Allen told Hawkeye Report. "They stuck with me for a long time. Through everything with Illinois and then with Oregon coming into the mix, they've been with me this whole time and I just feel like that's the best place for me.
"I'm looking forward to getting into a college weight room and working with all my teammates with like-minded goals so we can be as successful as possible."
Previously, Allen was committed to Illinois but de-committed in the fall.
