RedBox Rx, a newly formed subsidiary of Hy-Vee Inc., recently introduced a low-cost telehealth and online pharmacy service to help people receive their prescription medications at a more affordable price, according to a RexBox Rx release.
The new service, which is currently available to people aged 18 and older in the United States at rexboxrx.com, is capable of shipping prescribed medications to patients' homes and enables straightforward access to health care professionals who can prescribe these prescriptions.
"Our goal is to make it easy, convenient and affordable to receive treatment for dozens of illnesses and health conditions," Marshall Sanders, president of RedBox Rx, stated in the press release.
The pricing for telehealth consultations will vary from $0 to $39, depending on the type of medical treatment, and RedBox Rx will not accept insurance in order to help keep costs down.
"We know that more people are looking for quick, convenient and personalized healthcare options shipped directly to their homes, and RedBox Rx does exactly that," Sanders said.
However, patients may use their health savings account or flexible spending account card to cover the expense of the telehealth session or prescription.
This service operates independently of insurance and provides treatment plans for a number of health care services; a comprehensive list of the services is currently available at redboxrx.com/services.
