"With an unparalleled technology and best-in-class team, we were thrilled to welcome GWT into our 2021 cohort," Ellie Barker, program manager and accelerator of Imagine H2O, said in a release from Gross-Wen Technologies. "The team jumped right in and took full advantage of what the program had to offer — actively participating in sessions, presenting their technology to key program sponsors and engaging with 19 mentors from our network.”
Silicon Valley took note, and the company, which uses algae to efficiently treat wastewater safely and efficiently, won the Leading Silicon Valley Water Accelerator.
Imagine H20 is a leader in both water innovation accelerators and ecosystems used for water entrepreneurs. They have supported more than 150 startups in more than 50 countries since their creation in 2009.
Using their reward money, dispensed via a grant, Gross-Wen Technologies plans to deploy some of their equipment in Louisiana, creating 270 tons of dried algae and increasing local farm revenue by $1 million. The unparalleled process will prevent 5,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide being wasted in the atmosphere.
