Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation is pleased to present the second annual SummerFest at Rivers Edge, a free event with outdoor activities the whole family will enjoy. SummerFest takes place at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park on Saturday, July 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
SummerFest activities include three inflatables to bounce around - the moonwalk, the Island Oasis Obstacle Course, and the Mega Three Lane Thrill. Partygoers can also enjoy free face painting, lawn games, a chalk art mural project, and prizes galore!
New this year: Try lacrosse at SummerFest! Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation will have lacrosse equipment and demonstrations.
Admission to Summer Fest is free. Food trucks will be on-site with concessions available for purchase. There will be free bottled water and soda while supplies last.
“Tom Hanafan Park is the perfect place for events like SummerFest,” said Mayor Matt Walsh. “Residents of all ages are invited to come down to the park, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy a summer afternoon. Then, depending on your interests, you can take a leisurely walk around the park enjoying the sights and sounds or burn off some energy while scrambling through an obstacle course.”
