Bio:
R.J. (Randy) Stevenson Chairs Baird Holm’s Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Law Group. During his practice, he has represented private and public sector employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law, with a particular emphasis on counseling and compliance regarding workplace discrimination/harassment, occupational safety and health, wage and hour, ADA, FMLA, and union-management issues.
Randy is one of a handful lawyers in the Midwest who have been elected a Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, the premier peer-selected organization of labor and employment lawyers in North America.
Since 2003, Randy has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the fields of Employment Law and Labor Law, and was named that publication’s 2016 and 2020 “Labor Law – Management Lawyer of the Year” for Omaha and the 2017 “Employment Law – Management Lawyer of the Year.” For many years he has been listed in Great Plains Super Lawyers®, Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business® (“Band A”), and Martindale-Hubbell® with an “AV” (the highest) rating. Additionally, Randy is listed as a “Midwest Star” in Benchmark, America’s Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys®.
A 1985 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law, Randy is a past Chair of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Labor Relations and Employment Law Section. He was also elected as a Fellow of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation and taught as an adjunct professor at Creighton University’s School of Law.
In addition to authoring numerous publications of interest to employers, Randy is viewed by the media as a “thought leader” regarding COVID-19 issues in the workplace. He has been featured in coronavirus stories aired on ABC, Fox and NBC affiliates and has been quoted extensively in newspapers, including the Omaha World-Herald and dozens of others in syndication such as the Miami Herald.
