Event Description:

The 20th Annual Scrooge Contest ends today! Look for food collection boxes and money collection cans all around Atlantic throughout November. All funds raised and food collected goes to the Atlantic Food Pantry. The winner will be announced Thursday December 1st by the media. The winner will serve as Grand Marshall in the Lighted Parade on December 3rd and all contestants will be featured at the beginning of the parade.The 2022 Scrooge Contestants are:Dave Frederiksen, Hy-VeeJeff Gude, First Whitney BankJoyce Weiser & Lori Blum, Brown's Shoe FitDr. Matt Weresh, Cass Health Cash donations are worth 5 points on the dollar and one non-perishable item earns the contestants one point.The Atlantic Food Pantry is asking for a specific list of food items, with a focus on monetary donations due to limited storage space. 

The money will help them purchase food items as needed, including meat and refrigerated items.The list of needed food items includes:Cream of Chicken/Mushroom SoupTomato/Chicken Noodle SoupRamen NoodlesHamburger HelperCanned Beef Ravioli/Spaghetti O’sInstant Sides (Packages) – Pasta, Sauce or PotatoBoxed CerealJiffy Corn Muffin MixSaltine CrackersCanned FruitBar SoapCanned Tuna/ChickenMacaroni & CheeseCanned VegetablesToilet Paper18 oz.
