Meanwhile, the Educational Services industry was the second largest contributor, filing five petitions (29.4% of the total), with an approval rate of 80%.

The SW Iowa Times publication area employers with the most petitions during 2024 included Future Foam, Inc., which filed seven petitions with an approval rate of 100%, Council Bluffs Community School District with three petitions and an approval rate of 66.7%, and TRI Center Community School, which filed two petitions with an approval rate of 100%.

Compared to 2023, the SW Iowa Times publication area saw a 70% increase in the number of H-1B petitions during 2024.

Despite this, family sponsorship remains the most common path to permanent residency, accounting for 63% of green cards issued in 2023.
